Recent acquisition for our personal library: 📖 The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark by William Shakespeare, edited by A. D. Braunmuller I've had Hamlet for decades in the two volume Shakespeare collection you can see at the bottom of the photo but over the last few years I've started collecting the individual plays as published by Pelican Books and my daughter gave me this one a couple weeks ago. #bookstodon

This afternoon, some family and friends and I traveled to the Utah State Capitol with a few hundred others for a 'read-in' to protest our legislators' attacks on libraries and to rally in favor of the freedom to read. Currently Utah has banned 22 books in schools state wide. The law that allows this is undemocratic, unconstitutional, and so embarrassing. #UniteAgsinstBookBans and #LetUtahRead ! Organized and supported by Let Utah Read, Utah Library Association, Under the Umbrella bookstore, ACLU Utah, King's English bookstore, University of Utah Rare Books, & PEN America. I read 📖 Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell, which was suppressed by the fascist Franco regime. #bookstodon
