Today I started working on a Control Box for my smart cabin. 5 buttons, with 2 actions each = 10 possible API requests.

If I skip the USB port and wire power directly to the board, a Raspberry Pi Pico W will fit in the box, and will convert button presses to API requests.

Python is in my future, as is swearing about soldering :)

If you want to build a thriving active community around your software/hardware product, Open Sourcing your software is a great first step.

After that, take a look at governance. How is the community run?

MySQL and OpenOffice are Open Source, and their governance is why MariaDB and LibreOffice are so popular.

Here is my lousy timelapse from last night. The lens got covered with dew, the camera was aimed poorly, and the light settings were bunk.

I only caught the very beginning of the eclipse :/
